Wireless Network Evaluation and Optimization

Most homes use an all-in-one wireless router, which performs as a router/firewall, switch and wireless access point (AP) all in one. For small homes and offices, a centrally located device like this can perform well. However, if you have a larger home or office, or have placed the router in the basement next to the modem, these are rarely adequate. Placement is key. Access points are radio transmitters and receivers, which are affected by distance, walls, interference from other access points (your neighbors’) and electrical devices. We can perform an analysis of your environment and make recommendations. This might simply be moving the access point to a better location. If you have a larger home and/or want outside coverage, then upgrading your equipment or adding additional access points might be needed.
